I've always loved the ladylike fashions of the 30s and 40s. With the current 80s revival I long for the days of tailored dresses in ladylike prints. When you're young and just starting out in a ridiculously expensive city, it's hard to have any spare change lying around for extravagant shopping sprees. I've found a few places that have affordable clothes that are unique enough to allow your own personal sense of style shine through. One of my favorites has been Urban Outfitters. They have a great selection of cute and cool dresses, shirts, shoes and bags and they are all generally pretty affordable for a poor, young city girl like me.
Saw these in Lucky Magazine and have to say, love, love, love them. The look really fresh and chic and the drape is incredible flattering.
